We head north from Amsterdam before reaching Norway. We’ll then snake through emerald-green fjords, around rugged headlands, past mighty glaciers, along tiny channels and sail the Lofoten Islands, enjoying long days and the soft glow of the midnight sun. As we arrive in Tromso, 250 miles above the Arctic Circle, you’ll have experienced some of Norway’s wildest and unspoilt scenery. 5 Unmissables So many fjords, each more breathtaking than the last. From the vast Atlantic Ocean, you’ll sail through two of Norway’s longest fjords and into its mountainous interior. You’ll also cruise along the World Heritage Listed Geirangerfjord in pursuit of the mighty Briksdal Glacier. Visit the preserved medieval stave churches that are still present in some of the coastal towns. Most of these wooden churches were built between 1150 and 1350. Cross into the Arctic Circle as you make your way to the Arctic town of Tromso – a real bucket list achievement. Cruise through the famously narrow and steep Trollfjorden and look up in awe at the steep mountainsides - you can almost reach out and touch them from the ship. Stop in at Tromso’s Polar Museum. The museum tells the stories of brave trappers (men andwomen) who survived impossible winters in this hostile place. 4 – 15 May 2023 SH Diana Amsterdam - Tromsø 9 nights WARMER CLIMES Thanks to the Gulf Stream, the Norwegian fjords are warmer than you might expect.
