The fjords here reach depths of up to 1,450 metres (4,700 feet) and are home to seals, narwhals, polar bears, muskoxen, geese and seabirds. Stop in at Ittoqqortoormiit – one of the world’s most remote and isolated settlements. For nine months of the year, sea ice prevents ship access to the town, and locals must depend on their hunting skills for survival. Travel to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon through incredible coastal scenery. The lagoon is one of Iceland’s most picturesque spots – here, we’ll sail amongst the stunning azure icebergs as they slowly drift out to sea. Visit the Skalanes Reserve and its diverse range of habitats and wildlife. Thousands of seabirds nest along the dramatic cliffs, while prized nesting eiders live inland.
